HITZ 97 FM, Colombo’s latest radio station was launched amidst a distinguished gathering recently. The station features chart hits from the late 60’s to the very best of today. It is the first radio station in Sri Lanka to webcast live.
HITZ 97 FM takes music to the next level by connecting audiences via Facebook, email and an interactive website. The radio station takes the medium of sound to visual, with a live webcast allowing listeners in Sri Lanka and worldwide to put a face to the voice by watching and listening to their favourite presenters.
The station has five primetime shows on weekdays and categorised programmes on the weekends, giving listeners the opportunity to make requests and dedications. Another feature is the active SMS portal, which electronically generates a reply, informing the listener of the time the request will be aired.
Owned and managed by Univision Networks (a joint venture of SATNET, a sister channel of SATH FM) and with many years of experience in the fields of television and radio, HITZ 97 FM has plans to take radio to the next realm in Sri Lanka.The Company is headed by Managing Director Mahmood UlHaq.
HITZ 97 FM, currently broadcasts within the Greater Colombo region and will initially expand to the North western and South western regions with island wide transmission planned for the future.
