Dialog Axiata ranks at number six in the Business Today TOP TWENTY FIVE. Dialog Axiata continues to be the leader in mobile services sector in Sri Lanka.
The group’s focus on providing digital solutions for the people and their businesses in the country has been critical to their success.
Dialog Axiata recorded a 24 percent growth in consolidated revenue while group PAT was 6.02 billion rupees, which was a growth of 23 percent. The positive performance at group level was supported by growth in the core mobile business as reflected in the financial performance of Dialog Axiata as well as its subsidiaries, Dialog Television (DTV) and Dialog Broadband Networks (DBN). Within Sri Lanka’s mobile sector Dialog Axiata featured a subscriber base of 7.7 million, which delivered strong growth in revenue and profitability. Broadband subscribers on the Dialog Network grew by 44 percent to be recorded over 455,000.
DTV introduced Sri Lanka’s first ever Prepaid Television Service, which enables subscribers to pay for channels on a per-day basis, which resulted DTV becoming the market leader in Sri Lanka’s Pay TV market, with a subscriber base of 264,000. With the acquisition of Suntel, DBN recorded a revenue of 5.04 billion rupees, which is an increase of 125 percent from the previous year.
With the group investing towards the expansion of high speed mobile broadband services, fixed broadband services and optical fibre network, greater services can be expected from Dialog, where a focus on digital empowerment has been identified to bridge socio-economic divides and asymmetries in the various sectors in socio-economic development.
