AVIC Astoria Unveils First Tower
AVIC International Hotels Lanka, a subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) launched AVIC Astoria's Tower One at an event graced by distinguished dignitaries, which included Zhuang Lizhou, Chief Representative, CATIC Sri Lanka, and Liu Hongguang, Deputy Manager, CATIC ENG Head Office and General Manager, CATIC ENG Sri Lankan Branch.

With AVIC Astoria, investment in Sri Lanka will not only come in the form of a set of condominiums, but will also include state-of-the-art and cutting-edge technology incorporated into the construction process.
A unique feature about the construction material incorporated into the project has been the aluminium formwork, which would mark the first time of application in a construction project in Sri Lanka.
The use of the formwork aids in expediting the fast rise of the skyscraper, and the Astoria Condominiums will almost equal the height of the World Trade Centre in Colombo Fort.
